Let the Summer Adventure Begin
Registered campers and their families are invited to our Summer Camp Kickoff Celebration — an afternoon of fun, exploration, and excitement as we gear up for three incredible weeks of summer programming.
What Is Planned
Meet the Counselors. Our summer camp staff includes experienced Acton guides and guest specialists in outdoor education, maker arts, and digital storytelling. This is your chance to meet the team, ask questions, and put faces to names before the first day of camp.
Tour the Camp Spaces. We have been transforming our studios and outdoor areas for summer camp, and we are excited to show you what we have set up. From the Maker’s Workshop stocked with tools and materials to the Story Lab equipped with cameras and editing stations, your camper will get a preview of where the magic will happen.
Squad Formation. Campers will be placed into squads during the kickoff event. We design squads to balance ages, interests, and personalities, creating groups where every child can thrive. Squad members will play icebreaker games and start building the connections that will carry them through the summer.
Campfire Snacks and Music. We will cap off the celebration with a gathering around our outdoor fire pit, complete with roasted marshmallows, music, and the official camp cheer. Every great adventure needs a great beginning, and this is ours.
Important Information for Families
This kickoff event is also a practical opportunity to handle logistics before camp begins. Our camp coordinator will be available to review daily schedules, drop-off and pick-up procedures, medical forms, and packing lists. We want the first real day of camp to be all about the adventure — not paperwork.
What to Bring:
- Completed medical and emergency contact forms (if not already submitted)
- A water bottle for your camper
- Comfortable clothes and shoes suitable for outdoor play
- A spirit of adventure
