The Moment They Have Been Working Toward
Exhibition Day is the highlight of every semester at Acton Academy. It is the day our learners step into the spotlight and share the projects, products, and presentations they have poured their hearts into over the past several months. This is not a science fair with poster boards — this is a showcase of genuine, meaningful work created by young people who were trusted with real challenges.
What to Expect
Spark Studio: “Our Neighborhood” Exhibition. Our youngest learners will unveil the scale model neighborhood they have been building for the past eight weeks. Each squad will present their section of the model and explain the research, math, and community values that guided their design decisions. Visitors can walk through the model and ask questions.
Discovery Studio: “The Entrepreneur’s Toolkit” Pitch Booths. Discovery learners will present their original business concepts in a marketplace-style setup. Each team has a booth where they will pitch their product or service, show prototypes, and field questions from visitors acting as potential investors. Several of these businesses have real potential, and the learners are prepared to impress.
Adventure Studio: Documentary Film Screening. Our Adventure learners produced short documentary films exploring untold stories in our community. The screening begins at 10:30 AM in the main gathering space. Each squad will introduce their film and lead a brief Q&A session afterward. These films are genuinely moving pieces of storytelling, and we encourage everyone to attend.
Studio Tours. Throughout the event, learners will be available to lead tours of their studios. See the workspaces, the goal boards, the project areas, and all the tools and materials our learners use daily. Hearing children explain their own learning process is one of the most powerful parts of any visit to Acton.

- 9:00 AM — Doors open, welcome refreshments
- 9:15 AM — Spark Studio exhibition opens
- 9:30 AM — Discovery Studio pitch booths open
- 10:30 AM — Adventure Studio documentary screening
- 11:30 AM — Open studio tours and exploration
- 12:30 PM — Closing ceremony and learner reflections
- 1:00 PM — Event concludes
Who Is Invited
Exhibition Day is open to everyone — current families, prospective families, grandparents, neighbors, and community members. This is one of the best ways to see the Acton model in action and understand what learner-driven education produces.
If you are considering Acton for your family, Exhibition Day offers a window into the depth and quality of work our learners produce. You will leave with a clear picture of what your child’s experience could look like.
